Mile Rack LLC ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Mile Rack mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information when you use our App. Please read this policy carefully. By using Mile Rack, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide Directly
- Full name and email address (account registration)
- Vehicle information (make, model, year, nickname)
- Custom IRS mileage rate preferences
- Trip notes and purpose classifications (Business, Personal, Medical, Charity)
- Subscription and payment information (processed by RevenueCat and Apple; we do not store payment card numbers)
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- GPS location data (collected while the App is actively tracking drives)
- Trip start and end coordinates, route polyline data
- Drive distance and duration
- Device type and operating system version (for compatibility and crash reporting)
2.3 Information from Optional Third-Party Integrations
- Google Calendar (optional): If you choose to connect your Google Calendar, we access the titles and times of your calendar events solely to assist with trip classification. We do not store calendar event data — it is used in real time only and is not retained.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Record, store, and display your driving trips within the App
- Calculate estimated mileage deductions based on IRS standard mileage rates
- Suggest trip purpose classifications using artificial intelligence (powered by Anthropic)
- Generate mileage reports in PDF and CSV format for your use
- Operate, maintain, and improve the App and its features
- Communicate with you regarding your account, subscription, or support requests
- Comply with applicable legal obligations
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data only with the following third-party service providers, and only to the extent necessary to operate the App:

5. Location Data
Mile Rack requires background location access on your device to automatically detect and record driving trips. Your location data is:
- Used solely to record trip routes and calculate distances
- Stored securely in your account via Supabase (see Section 4)
- Never sold, shared with advertisers, or used for purposes other than trip recording
- Accessible only by you and the infrastructure providers listed in Section 4
You may revoke background location permission at any time in your device settings. Doing so will disable automatic trip detection, but you may continue to add trips manually.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account and trip data for as long as your account remains active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law.

7. Data Security
We implement commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including encrypted data transmission (TLS/HTTPS), secure cloud storage, and access-controlled authentication systems.
However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information, and we are not responsible for unauthorized access that occurs despite our reasonable security measures.
8. Children's Privacy
Mile Rack is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@milerack.com and we will promptly delete such information.
9. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Request access to the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal information
- Request deletion of your personal information
- Withdraw consent to location tracking at any time via device settings
- Lodge a complaint with a relevant data protection authority

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy at any time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy and, where appropriate, by sending an in-app notification.
